BNP
to boycott APC
By Malik Siraj Akbar
QUETTA: The Balochistan National Party (BNP) – the largest
nationalist party in the province – will boycott the all-parties
conference (APC) announced by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to
resolve the Balochistan imbroglio, the party’s Information Secretary
Sanaullah Baloch has said.
The BNP leader told Daily Times there was no need for an APC on
Balochistan because there has been no change in the government’s
policy towards the province ever since the Pakistan People’s Party
came to power, adding that such conferences were held by the
government only to gain media publicity. They have in the past
proven to be a sheer waste of time, he said. He termed allegations
of Baloch nationalists avoiding negotiations on the basis of
assumptions and fears as untrue.
