Altaf denounces ANP silence over Sufi’s stance KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has denounced the Awami National Party (ANP) leadership for not taking a bold stand against Sufi Muhammad’s statements and the violation of the Nizam-e-Adl Regulation by the Taliban. In what appeared to be an attempt to ridicule the ANP leadership, he asked them to wear bangles and sit in their houses against the cowardly Taliban. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hussain said that decent Pakhtoons were deeply shocked by the shameful and cowardly policies of the ANP. He urged that the upright Pakhtoons should be informed about the opportunistic policies of the ANP. He assured them that MQM would not only give all out support to those raising their voices for the honour of Pakhtoons but if needed, would render all necessary sacrifices. Hussain appealed to the honourable Pakhtoons to form their own groups and raise the flag of ‘Jihad’ for safeguarding the courageous and brave Pakhtoon traditions, as he knows that that the Pakhtoons till today believe in the teachings of Khushhal Khan Khattak, Rahman Baba and Bacha Khan and would not hesitate to render any sacrifices for upholding their ideals. Hussain said that through the Nizam-e-Adl Regulation, ANP leaders have abandoned the Pakhtoon people of Swat, Buner and Dir as well as the oppressed people of the entire province at the mercy of the barbaric Taliban and are now enjoying their lives in lavish houses with their families. staff report Source:Daily Times:May 06,2009
