moved against restriction on IDPs entry in Sindh
KARACHI - Syed Iqbal Kazmi Advocate Saturday submitted a
constitutional petition in Sindh High Court (SHC) against not
permitting the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) of Swat and other
tribal areas to enter in Sindh. The hearing over the petition would
be conducted before the division bench of SHC on 25 May.
The plaintiff submitted in the petition that the people of Swat as
well as the other parts of the county were the Pakistani nationals,
so they could move anywhere in the country.
He mentioned the article 15 of the constitution that says that the
Pakistani nationals could not be stopped to go anywhere in the
country.
Federal Interior Secretary, Sindh Government through its Chief
Secretary, Sindh Home Secretary, Inspector General of Sindh Police
were made respondent.
He claimed that the IDPs, including women and children, were
intercepted and were not allowed to enter Sindh from Kashmor as per
the directions issued by the authorities concerned.
He said that it was the illegal act to entrap the IDP’s to move
anywhere in Sindh as well as other parts of the country.
