SSM for joint struggle to solve Sindh’s issues
KARACHI: Save Sindh Movement’s (SSM) central committee has called
upon all Sindh-based parties to unite for a joint struggle on
collective issues that the province faces including their separate
agitation against the IDP influx.
The SSM leadership gave this call at its Rehbar Committee meeting
held at the residence of SSM leader Shah Muhammad Shah on Friday.
The SSM leaders believe that the formation of an alliance of
Sindh-based parties is the need of hour. Idress Chandio, Younus
Maher and Haji Younus Baloch were present at the meeting.
The committee appreciated the Ghotki District Council for passing a
resolution against the arrival of IDPs in Sindh and appealed to
other district councils for playing their role in protecting the
rights of Sindhis. The central leadership condemned the brutality
showed by the Karachi police as it murdered two workers of the Sindh
Taraqi Pasand Party during a protest against the IDPs influx. They
also demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident. It was also
decided that the ‘Peace and prosperity conference’ would be
organised on July 18 at the shrine of Hazrat Pir Bilawli, Bhanoth,
Hala, where the caretakers of shrines and Sufi scholars would be
invited.
