Sindh has reservations on Chashma - Jhelum powerhouse’ KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information Shazia Marri has said that Sindh has reservations on the construction of a powerhouse on Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal and in this regard, the prime minister and federal minster for water and power would be informed. Briefing newsmen, after the Sindh Assembly session on Monday, Marri said that the statement by Minister for Irrigation and Power Syed Murad Ali Shah in relation to the construction of a power house at Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal is self-explanatory. She said that Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah would apprise the prime minister and federal minister about their reservations, hoping that the federal government will satisfy the chief minister in this regard. She said there is no impediment in the revival of the Commissionarate System. “PPP is awaiting the opinion of its coalition partners for maintaining an environment of reconciliation so that not only legislation is carried out unanimously but its implementation is also ensured,” she maintained. Marri said that along with the bill on the Commissionerate System, a bill regarding amenity plots is also under consultation. She said that in an effort to do away with discrimination based on cast, colour and creed, an environment of reconciliation would be established and with this thought in mind, the condition of domicile for admission in educational institutions in Karachi is being done away with. app
