KARACHI: Seven people affiliated with different political parties
were killed in separate incidents on Thursday.
This raises the death toll of political workers
in targeted killings in the city during the last three days to 13.

to the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H), two to the Muttahida
Qaumi Movement (MQM), one to the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and one to the

Tension gripped different areas of the city, especially those in

city including Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal Colony and Lines Area
but no major incident was reported. Shops were closed in most parts
of the city after the incidents of violence as well as firing.
On the other hand, despite the heavy contingent of law enforcers
deployed in all affected areas, the situation remained tense. In
many areas, unidentified persons resorted to aerial firing and also
tried to set vehicles on fire.

Soon after learning about death of the Nazir
Sajid, a large number of JI, Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) and
Shabab-e-Milli activists took the body to the Sindh Chief Minister’s
House, where they held a protest demonstration.
Incidents of targeted killing escalated in the city especially in
Landhi, Korangi and Shah Faisal Colony areas. It believed that the
same modus operandi was used in such targeted killings. The culprits
all arrived at the spot on motorbikes and used 9mm pistols in the
assassinations and always managed to flee from the scene.

woman and a youth, two MQM workers, one JI worker as well as one PPP
