Citizens must display NICs before entering govt departments
LAHORE: The Punjab government has
made it mandatory for people to display their National Identity
Cards (NICs) before entering government and semi-government
departments, a private TV channel reported on Thursday. According to
the channel, the government has directed departments to check the
NICs of civilians who visit the offices, and that anyone not
carrying their card should not be allowed into the department or any
office. The move comes as a precautionary measure against possible
terror attacks in the province.
