Shutdown today to protest Naeemi's killing

LAHORE - The traders and business community of the City have decided to observe complete shutter down strike today (Saturday) against the Jamia Naeemia blast in which many were killed and wounded, besides noted scholar Dr Sarfraz Naeemi.
The Anjuman-e-Tajran Lahore has called for a total strike in City, which the other traders’ bodies have also supported, saying that they would keep their shops and markets closed all day-long.
Traders condemning the bomb blast at Jamia Naeemia said the terror attack in a congested locality of the provincial capital is a failure of the security agencies and an eye opener for those who are sitting at the helm of affairs.
Shopkeepers said all major shopping centres and business markets would remain closed to protest the killing of Dr Sarfraz.
They said clerics, mosques and other worship places were being targeted by the terrorists, which was a shameful and cowardice act.
President of Anjuman Tajran Anarkali Lahore said due to series of terrorist blasts in the City, traders have suffered loss of billions of rupees as main business centres had to remain closed for a long period of time.
It is to be noted that routine life was also affected on Friday following the blast as shops and markets were closed in several areas of the City including Brandreth Road, some part of Anarkali, Urdu Bazaar, McLoad Road and in the vicinity of Garhi Shahu.Meanwhile, a leading foreign bank has announced to shut down its main branches in the country today (Saturday) due to security reasons, sources said.
