PNAC promoting quality products, says DG ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) is striving for improvement, competency and integrity of conformity assessment bodies by providing them with an internationally recognised accreditation service, said PNAC Director General (DG) Eng Shaukat Hussain on Monday. Speaking in a PTV talk show, he said the council was also promoting a culture of quality products, which ultimately benefited consumers, producers, regulators and other stakeholders. He said second International Accreditation Day would be observed today (Monday) under a theme “Competence”. He said the PNAC had developed a national accreditation policy benefiting cooperative operation of all bodies concerned and aiming at the mutual recognition with other countries to establish the process of Thai accreditation in line with international standards. Hussain said the customers would have confidence in the quality of products and services after availing themselves of accreditation. He said this facility would enhance export and build trust between council and customers. In a global industry, customers are becoming more demanding and seeking assurances of products and services, he said, adding, accredited organisations reduced the risk of providing unreliable test results, services and products besides meeting the customers’ expectations, however. app Daily Times: Staff Report :June 8, 2009 |
