Pak politicians resolve to establish state writ in Swat
Islamabad : The political leadership of Pakistan reiterated its
resolve to preserve and protect the sovereignty of the state of
Pakistan.
The national political leadership of the country was given a
detailed briefing by Chief of Army Staff on the operational aspects
of the ongoing operations and steps being taken to minimize
collateral damage and the efforts being made to ensure the security
and well being of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) at Prime
Minister House here today with Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani
in the chair.
The political leadership on the occasion reinforced its will to
establish the writ of the state, ensure the rule of law and carry
forward the political process.
It further recognized the role of the armed forces in the present
situation and grieved over the martyrdom of personnel of the armed
and security forces.
The national political leadership also took note and emphasized that
strategic questions regarding where, when and how many troops are
deployed in each operation or sector is a Pakistani decision based
on objective analysis and full understanding of threat spectrum.
They said these decisions are undertaken in accordance with our
national interest by our leadership, keeping in view the aspirations
of people of Pakistan.
