MQM backs military operation

 Lahore:MQM Rabita Committee member Dr Ali Hussain has termed the military operation in various areas of the NWFP a step necessary to counter terrorism.

According to a press release issued on Monday, Dr Ali Hussain while addressing a corner meeting at Shahdra said Talibans and their aides were conspiring to occupy the resources of Pakistan.

He said they were continuously carrying out attacks on the security personnel, putting lives of civilians in danger. He said the NAR had been rejected by the people of Malakand division who did not want the Talibans to dominate the area.

The Swat operation enjoyed full public support, he said, expressing hope the country would be purged of the menace of terrorism soon. He said Talibans also wanted to sabotage peace in Pakistan’s largest city Karachi.
