Police raids intensified to arrest PML-N MPA
LAHORE - A team of Naseerabad police has been dispatched
to Pasrur for the arrest of Punjab chief minister’s adviser and MPA
Munawar Gill who allegedly raped a woman with the connivance of his
some accomplices in a local hotel some days back.
Superintendent Police (SP) Investigation, Model Town, Zeshan said
that a team of investigation was conducting raids for the arrest of
accused PML-N MPA booked by the Naseerabad police. He said that a
separate police team had also been dispatched to Pasrur from where
he won the general elections and was residing there along with his
family. He said no arrest could be made so far.
To a question, the SP said that investigation police Thursday
collected a report of medical examination of the victim woman from a
local public hospital that carried mixed impression. He cannot
comment on the basis of the said report that the complainant woman
was raped or not.
The SP said that blood sample of the victim woman had also been sent
for the DNA test which was in progress till now. “I think it will
take three to four days in issuing the DNA test report”, he said,
adding that further investigations were underway.
It is worth mentioning here that a Green Tow resident Tahira Perveen
had got an FIR registered against PML-N MPA Munwar Gill alleging
that he had raped her in a room of Gulberg’s local hotel at
gunpoint. The accused was also drunk at the time when he sexually
assaulted her, she stated in the FIR.
