Seraiki Province Debate - An Organised Crime Against the Integrity of Punjab

A paragraph from Dawn’s editorial Sunday, 05 Jul, 2009 titled “Seraiki province” reads as follows:

Punjab has been gripped by an extraordinary bipartisan political debate in recent weeks: should a so-called Seraiki province be carved out of south Punjab? The debate has been tempered somewhat by the attempts of the top leadership of the PPP and PML-N to quash talk of dividing Punjab, but it is continuing ferociously in the media and in sections of the political elite.

Yes the debate is going on ferociously in media especially in the Urdu print and electronic media. Most of the Urdu channels and newspapers are Karachi based. And their editorial policy carry’s a natural hate and grudge against Punajb and Punjabi. Not to mention of the Seraiki Channels, all based at Karachi, owned and operated by Urdu walas and are busy running a hate campaign against Punjab and Punjabis round the clock. The Urdu channels going on air with non-stop anti- Punjab Programs and Urdu Newspapers are publishing and carrying hate material against Punjab and Punjabi on regular basis. This hate campaign against Punjab and Punjabi has thus turned in to a war of hate on this planet against Punjab and Punjabis. Thus leaving Punjab and Punjabis with no option but to do away with non-Punjabi print and electronic media for good. Implementation of Punjabi as a medium of instruction in Punjab is the first step to be taken towards the creation of Punjabi print and electronic media. Establishing a 100% powerful Punjabi print and electronic media has become essential to defend the integrity and solidarity of our motherland. And it is essentially needed for the protection and promotion of Punjabi language, literature and culture too. We need to tell the world that Punjab is the motherland of Punjabis .and all those living on our soil are Punjabis. As I honestly believe that only a Punjabi print and electronic media can reflect the true aspirations and image of Punjab and Punjabi nation. Punjabis must follow the example of the powerful Sindhi print and electronic media. Which is confronting the enemies of Sindh and Sindhis furiously. It is a fine example to be followed with.

I firmly believe that the print and electronic media of a particular language will only work to promote and protect the interests of its own lingual and ethnic community. And it will always be at forefront to destroy, damage, conspirate and work to exploit the opposite or any other lingual and ethnic community and people confronting the vested interests of its own community.

Let us ask few questions to those Punjab haters and enemies who are living to see the division of Punjab or supporting the so called Seraiki province on the Soil of Punjab.

Why Seraiki province in Punjab only? What about the Seraikis living in the rest of the 3 provinces? Why not divide Balochistan,Sindh and Khyber Pukhtoonkhawah on the similar lines and create a greater Seraikistan? Why debating division of Punjab only? Instead of dividing Punjab why not merge the Punjabi speaking areas (Hazara and Dera Ismael Khan) of Khyber Pukhtoon khawah with Punjab? Why not end feudalism in South Punjab instead? Why not non-Punjabis be asked to leave South Punjab and return to their lands of origin? Why so much hate and bias against Punjab only? Why at all Pakistan should exist on the cost of Punjab?

I would rather prefer to see Pakistan disintegrated before any harm is done the integrity and integrity of Punjab. Seraiki is an extremely controversial and disputed term being used to eliminate Punjab and Punjabi language by the vested interests. Punjab is a natural, single linguistic and administrative unit since times immemorial .Seraiki for Punjab and Punjabis doesn’t exist.

Non-Punjabis (Aliens, non-locals,qabzagirs,feudal,sardars,Pirs,Sardars and settlers mostly of Baloch origin ) of South Punjab are working to disintegrate Punjab with the help of anti-Punjab print and electronic media. Those who are not happy on the land of five rivers should leave it and return to their native lands. Who invited them to come and settle on the lands of Punjab? South Punjab is integral part of Punjab. on-Punjabis or so called Seraikis will not be allowed the occupation of South Punjab.

If Punjab is too big in size for Pakistan than why not undo the partition and reinstate the Punjab of Ranjeet Singh and British.The integrity and solidarity of Punjab is more dear and important to Punjabis than that of Pakistan. To keep Punjab united and its integrity intact thousands of Pakistanis can be sacrificed.

The debate in support of the Seraiki province and division of Punjab in Pakistani print and electronic media is an organized crime against the integrity and solidarity of Punjab. On-Punjabi print and electronic media is being used as a tool to flare-up the ethnic and lingual tensions not in Pakistan only but throughout the world. The Seraiki province debate is preparing ground for a large scale civil war in Punjab. Punjab is already the victim of racial, lingual and ethnic hatred of non-Punjabi print and electronic media since long. Punjabi language is the target of the state sponsored linguistic cleansing and terrorism in Pakistan. And Punjab and Punjabis are abused by Urdu Print and electronic media regularly. This hate campaign against Punjab and Punjab run by a bunch of dishonest ,biased, hired scoundrels and Punjab haters in the garb of intellectuals and writers better be called lingual and ethnic terrorists must end now otherwise it is bound to backfire.

The debate in support of Seraiki province or division of Punjab (be it lingual or administrative) in anti-Punjab and non-Punjabi Pakistani print and electronic media is an organized crime against the integrity and solidarity of Punjab. Punjabis must think of stopping this illegal, ill-conceived, biased, unconstitutional and highly objectionable debate. It has to be crushed and silenced. Because it is meant to destroy the integrity and solidarity of our motherland. It is time Punjabis must do something seriously about it now.

The division of Punjab is an imperialist agenda supported vested interests, feudals, non-Punjabis of South and by anti Punjab print and electronic media. The entire Pakistani media is non Punjabi and dominated by Punjab haters and anti-Punjbi elements. This immoral, Illegal, biased and unconstitutional debate in support of division of Punjab and Seraiki province is Pushing Punjab and entire Pakistan towards a large scale civil war. In which Pakistan is bound to perish.
